Praised for her warm soprano voice that is equally expressive and lyrical, Holly McCormack has spent the greater part of her musical career captivating audiences. With roots in classical opera training, Holly has been equally comfortable performing in the cabaret style. Holly was raised in Albany, NY, one of five daughters from a lively family of Sicilian, Irish and German descent. |
Holly most recently performed in the ensemble of Pagliacci at 2024 The Glimmerglass Festival. She also performed in the ensemble of La bohème with The Glimmerglass Festival during the summer of 2023. On the West Coast, Holly was a soloist in the profoundly beautiful oratorio, Considering Matthew Shepard, in West Hollywood, CA, with the Metropolitan Master Chorale. In 2019, she performed the role of Suor Osmina in
Puccini’s Suor Angelica with Mission Opera in Los Angeles.
She has produced and performed her own full-length cabaret shows at venues such as Gardenia and The Mint in Los Angeles, as well as the Hudson River Music Hall. Holly was a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus for three consecutive seasons and has performed with the Lake George Music Festival. Other stage credits include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Governess (cover) (The Turn of the Screw), Suzel (L'amico Fritz), and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte).
Holly received her B.M. in Voice Performance from SUNY Purchase and her M.M. in Voice Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Additionally, Holly completed an apprenticeship with Chicago Opera Theater. She had the privilege of studying French chanson on the French Riviera at the Académie Internationale d’Eté de Nice, France, and role preparation with Martina Arroyo at Indiana University.
